Help in getting back home to South Carolina from Florida

I dont know where to start but I am in desparate need of help. I am divorced and disabled on limited income and my mothers medical condition got real bad so my ex-husband came to South carolina to help me get to FLorida to be with my mother during what could be her last days. I was here 10 days when my ex-husband told me I had to leave the home and sent me packing with no money nowhere to go in Florida but the streets. I just want to go back home to South Carolina where I came from and be happy again I do have a Part-time job there that let me take FMLA and lots of friends I let my home go there because I knew i could not afford to pay on it and survive in Florida. I was told by my friends not to come down to Florida because my ex was bound to do this and he did... My ex also has been very emotiotionally abusive towards me while I have been here and very controlling towards me telling me I could not keep in contact with my friends in South Carolina and would get mad anytime my cell phone went off and someone called or texted me from SC... I just want to get my stuff out of storage (been in storage since I left 18 mos ago) rent a u-haul and tow my truck behind it and go back to SC. I have a friend to stay with there for a while until I can get money to get my own place again. What I dont have is money to get myself home from FLorida my disability check is stuck in limbo right now because of a lost ATM card and had to close the bank account and Social Security has to now issue a check and well you kno the governement.... I have tried every charity, in the Polk County Florida area to see if they can help me, got an offer of a bus ticket but I have my transportation here and where I live in SC I need my vehicle to get around no public transporation... I dont know where to turn for help to get money to get me a uhaul and home or even to just catch my storage up which is $160 and for gas about $150 to get myself and my fully packed truck back to SC..please is there anywhere I can get help like this Ive tried churches who send me to the same charities I already asked and was told no we cant help you... I just want to go back home to my friends,co-worker where I will feel safe.. Help me

first post/gas money

I'm new to this so I'm not sure exactly how this works. My name is Kayla and I am in need of a few dollars for gas money. Not much, I would hate to put a strain on anyone else because I know how hard it is. My husband just lost his job and is currently waiting to hear back from 2 jobs he just interviewed for. We are both full time students and have 3 young children. 3,2 and 11 months. Our bills are starting to get behind we don't have a penny to out name. My husband is currently trying to donate plasma but his blood pressure is high so they won't allow him to. We just need a small amount of money for gas to make it back and forth for a short while. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I just found out that I am about 8 weeks pregnant. I got hired to start a job the 13th but cannot get there. I have no family and the "father" is not interested in our baby. My electricity and phone and cable are all scheduled to be shut off this week but I don't even care about all that. If I could get to this job I can pay my bills. I am a full time student that is about to drop out because I can't get there. I am a straight A student and haven't missed a day. This is killing me. I don't need a handout, just a hand until I can get my 1st check. I am willing to sign any type of IOU. Please, if you can help me, anything would be greatly appreciated. I have sold everything I can and am taking care of a family of 7 rescue cats. God Bless.

In need of some help PLEASE

Im in need desperately. Every week lately has been filled with stress and constant worry. Thats why im needing help. I have a very ill son who is in End Stage Renal Failure and requires Dialysis 3 times a week. We live in East Tx and his dialysis is in Dallas Tx, round trip its about 120 miles and we make that trip 3 times a week. I never know from one week to the next how I will get the money for gas to make the drive. Then I have to figure out how I will get groceries for the week. I am not able to work a full time job due to being at dialysis 3 days a week. I do jobs for family and friends to get us by week to week, but its been an upiill battle. Its been so overwhelming to say the least. I hate the fact that my ill son worries if we will have the gas money to get to his dialysis. That should be the last thing on his mind. I pray I will find someone who could help us. I truely appreciate it

***I have called transportation dept. They dont provide transportation where I live. Its a very rural area. We dont have a bus line either. They said they can do a contract with me to reimburse me every month. Im doing that but it will be 4 to 6 weeks to get first check.

About Dani04

I feel really bad getting on here and asking people that don't know me for money.  I am currently enrolled in Casino classes and all is going well but finances are catching up.  I was working, but I guess made the wrong decision in telling them what I was doing.  They have since fired me, I was a waitress at an all the crabs you can eat establishment.  So like most people who live week to week with their paychecks, I was day to day.  I have 4 children, two are older, but two are still little.

I am doing great in the class, but it is an hour away and takes about 20$ a day in gas.  I know once I start working there everything will be fine, but for now I have 4 more weeks left.  I could really use just some gas money help.  I am trying to make my dream come true!!

Hi

Why not try wishuponahero.com? Or modestneeds.com or mircrogiving.com.. Too bad there isn't any one you can borrow that from in your area...

Good luck

Aidpage group discussing "gas money"...

Feel free to participate in this public group space.

Two easy ways to do this:

  1. Add a comment or a question here - on this page... or on any other page in this space.
  2. Or, if you want to start a separate thread - make a new page.

Either way is good - the important thing is your participation. On Aidpage, people support each other by speaking out and by paying attention to each other - as simple as that.

Saving on gas in this time and age

As the roller coaster ride of our lives is happening at this time and we are seeing to many ups and downs. We have to start looking and analyzing at the big picture to the small pictures of everything that is around us. We have to find a norm or can we. But one of the things that we all are hurting on is the gas prices. We can’t live without it and we can’t live without it. But in order to put things at ease at least for a small period of time. Here are some tricks that we all have learned to make the price at the pump easier to swallow.

Always buy gas before 9:00 a.m. daily. The gas stations are regulated by state and the price of the gas changes after 9:00 a.m. in your area. So if you want to buy cheap gas, do it before 9:00 a.m.

Stay away from buying gas in the downtown area. The gas price is more expensive there. Drive a little further out and buy gas from and away from the downtown area.

Only drive when needed. Learn to walk a block or two. Make one trip for everything you need instead of making several trips.

Use mid grade gas. It might cost about a penny or two more but it last longer. Plus your car will handle better.

Start sharing rides, I found some people in my neighborhood that work in the same spot as I do. We share cars. Sometime on the weekend when we are both off, we go grocery shopping together to save gas and it fun to make a friend.

Tune up your car and keep the oil change current. By keeping your car cleaning and in tune less gas will be spent.

Drive the speed limit. By driving the speed limit. You can save a bunch of money. Your gas will spend less and you will get be benefit from your car better.

Know where you are going. Americans spend so much time looking for where they need to go. Map out your route, pick where you want to go before you leave your home. Just go where you need to go and don't change your map. You have to do this to surive now a days.

Give rides for a price. I found that many people are giving people rides to certain locations for a charge. I have 1 neighbor that takes people to the grocery store on Sunday and drives them back for $5.00 bucks. He makes the money which in turn, gets money for gas.

Lot’s of these ideas are only suggestions and these are things that do work. But you must follow your way of doing things. The list keeps going and going and you can get it right for what works for you. Remember the whole idea is to save money on gas and make your car work for you. Until next time.

My husband and I are on disability, and we have 3 kids.  We are behind on bills, plus we can never afford enough food or gas for the entire month.  We are allowed to go to the local food pantry once a month, which is some help, but my youngest son needs to be taken to his dads every couple weeks, and thats about a 160 mile drive, both ways, on friday and the sunday he comes home.  We would like to be able to move because our rent is high because they raised it since weve moved in 2 years ago, but we cant afford to move.  I have tried going back to work, but with my disability, it's pretty much impossible.  Anyone who could help my family would be blessed.
